We're slowing down.............. So stop in for a visit, have a cookie. Glassblowing demonstrations will happen. We can also be open by appointment if this time doesn't work.

Fall may be arriving!

We're FINALLY getting some welcome rain today. It's been crazy warm here this fall. I'm actually still harvesting the occasional tomato. I took most of the summer off to wage a battle with Lyme Disease. It's been a struggle but I seem to be improving quite a lot. Now we're strategizing as to how we can cut down on the tick population. Don't be surprised if next spring I start posting photos of chickens.

We finished our outdoor shows for the year, the last one being The Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City, MO. We had a great show, huge crowds and for a welcome change, people were buying.

We also participated in a couple of indoor shows. The first one was at The Grand Hand Gallery in St. Paul. It was a lovely show and we even had some sales. Not bad for the middle of the summer! Ending this weekend is A Glass Exhibit at the River Falls, WI library. It's a nice show with a wide variety of glass pieces, many of the artists are former students of Jim's.

Now we're back in the studios making new pieces for the next adventure, The Washington Craft Show at the Convention Center in D.C. We're also participating in a "salon" at Fred Kaemmer's studio in St. Paul. I'll post the dates when I know them.

Happy Fall and full moon!

The Springing of Spring

It's our daughter Maren's birthday!! She brings us sunshine and makes everyday feel like a fresh spring morning.

Things are starting to happen back here in the northland.  Only a few clumps of snow left in the shady areas, I imagine they will be gone with the rains that are coming this weekend. Crocus are up, the birds are busy, the geese are on nests and the bear have been rummaging around for something to eat. Not much time to enjoy right now as we're back in the studios trying to get a few things done before we're off to Fort Worth. I do take some short walks though, the texture and patterns of the dried grasses, etc. make my head spin with ideas. That reminds me, time to get to the studio.

My First Follower!!

Weird to be my first follower. Like a dog chasing it's tail.

Weds. March 23. Day One. Bloggarama.

We thought we'd give this blog thing a try as a way to keep people up on what's happening in our little slice of the glass/art world. We'll see how it goes. I (Renee) will most likely be doing the majority of posting so don't blame Jim for what you see (as in bad spelling, grammar, language)?! My Grandma Een was an english teacher but she died before I was paying much attention so here I am.  I'm open to suggestions, requests, whatever. So, let the journey begin..........
